STAY FOCUSED

Updated: May 28

Whenever we are focused on a goal most often the outcome is successful. However, it seems the more we try to focus, the more pending distractions come our way. Once we take our eye off of our goal, the harder it seems to achieve it. It soon falls by the wayside and therefore it becomes just another afterthought. Even though interruptions are inevitable, do not allow them to stop us from pursuing our goals. There are stages in pursuit of our goals. The first stage is to set a goal. The second stage is to consult God about our goal and wait for His answer. After our confirmation from God, the third stage is creating a plan to accomplish the goal. And stage four is executing our plan. Praying all the while. (Prayer is necessary in each stage). Remember, during our execution process, circumstances will arise that could cause a pause in our plan or even the potential to get us off track. It is important that during the postponement or sidetrack, that we keep our eye on our goal. There is a perfect example of what happens when we do not stay focused which is found in Matthew 14:22-31. Summarized, ‘by faith, Peter started towards his goal with Jesus in his view and the winds started blowing. He began to focus on the wind and took his eye off of Jesus. Peter became frightened and overwhelmed. Peter then cried out to Jesus and Jesus heard his cry and reached out his hand to Peter saying… you of little faith, why do you doubt?’. Therefore, let us go forward with our God approved plans. Stay focused with our eye on Him and our goal even when it gets rough or we feel as if we are tumbling or sinking. Step out on faith without hesitation. There is not an option to give up or turn back. When we are feeling defeated, call on Jesus. Do not be afraid, He is in arm’s reach. He will reach out His hand and calm the winds and troubles that are preventing us from achieving what we set out to do. Do Not Doubt! Suggested Verses: Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, Psalm 141:8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; Hebrews 3:1 Therefore, holy brothers, partners in a heavenly calling, keep your focus on Jesus
